Take a couple of lessons to teach your student a different instrument. If you are a bass teacher, teach your student a bit of basic drums, if you are a guitar teacher teach them some bass and so on.
It is always important to learn how the rest of the instruments in your band functions, and also a nice treat of diversity to learn a different instrument for a while.
A great idea for a special to offer as a music teacher would be a "birthday package".
Offer a package of 10-15 music lessons in a reduced price with a special coupon that can be offered as a gift certificate.
This goes well when the additional birthday gift was an instrument, or when friends and family want to re-awaken musical abilities in a loved one.
It also allows you to know that you are getting paid ahead for 15 lessons, and therefore gives you some wiggle room with the price.

For me influences have been the most important aspect of musical development.
It made me passionate about learning musical pieces, invested, and very style oriented.
To work on a specific style with a student, pick an artist they really like. Take 3-5 songs of that musician and teach it in depth.
Make sure you point out how the specific style influenced this musician, and what are the particular techniques that are unique to them. For instance, you might want to teach blues guitar using B.B king as an example. Point out that a lot of his famous songs were written by early blues greats like Howlin' Wolf and that he is famous for his fat sound, solos containing a lot of the one same note that manages to stay somewhat interesting because of his unique feel and of course so much more.
Try to pick musicians that are commonly loved by a lot of people, so you can sometimes use the same teaching materials again.

"I am a piano teacher, and it was so hard having a steady base of students.
I now pay more attention to everything I need to in order to keep them coming, and I have a steady extra income of 350$ a week just from my classes. It works."
Jeff, MO
"I started working on some of your ideas for extra activities to do more interesting things and make extra money. 6 months later it actually got to a point where I had to quit my day job, thank you for the inspiration and simple ideas that I didn't think of myself!"
Alice, CA
"Thanks for an easy, straight forward guide to all the simple things we can do to make our professional lives so much better!
I went from three students to ten in three months, and I make more money than I did from my older students! This is so much better than waiting tables, that's for sure."
Ethan, UK
"I don't even want to pick up the phone anymore coz I just know it's another new student and I don't have the time! So many students so little hours in a day. I always thought about teaching but wasn't sure how to get enough students. Thank you for this great alternative to a regular job!"
